The Partnership for Water Conservation is a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organization formed through a unique public-private collaboration between concerned citizens, water utilities, businesses and environmental interests.

Our mission

The Partnership for Water Conservation actively engages the Puget Sound region in conservation efforts generating measurable water savings that support communities, provide long-term economic benefits and protect watersheds by helping to sustain necessary flows in rivers and streams.

We are working to ensure water supplies meet the needs for regional vitality, while protecting fish and supporting other natural environmental values that make Puget Sound Region such a great place to live and work.

The Partnership will provide regionally-focused activities in four separate areas:

  • Regional Conservation Programs – Water conservation information programs can be costly and consumers become confused hearing mixed messages. The Partnership combines resources and expertise to deliver consistent, cost-effective programs and messages. We also develop best management practices.
  • Education – The Partnership is creating a regional clearinghouse on efficient water use and conservation technology.
  • Contract Services – The Partnership provides fee-for-service functions that benefit water users and providers. Contract services include: seminars and workshops, water audits, rebate programs and water conservation program development.
  • Advocacy – The Partnership provides a forum where views of business, government and the environmental community are incorporated into a common vision. We work with the region’s decision-makers to make that vision a reality.

The Partnership for Water Conservation is divided into three distinct and diverse communities called caucuses. Those caucuses are the:

  • Environmental Caucus
  • Utility/Local Government Caucus
  • Business/Consumer/Ratepayer Caucus

When joining the Partnership, members declare their caucus affiliation. Each caucus nominates and elects 5 board members to the 15-member Board of Directors. Caucuses also nominate members to the Partnership’s Technical Advisory Group (TAG).
